‘Quiz’ is a comedy drama that tells the infamous true story of Charles Ingram, “the Coughing Major”, whose £1,000,000 win on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? in 2001 unravelled into one of the UK’s most notorious cheating scandals.

The play moves fluidly between courtroom trial and game show stage, weaving in the events leading up to Ingram’s win, the behind-the-scenes politics at ITV, and the improbable path that landed multiple members of the Ingram family in the contestant’s chair.

Alongside the drama, the production breaks the fourth wall: audiences join a live pub quiz, re-create classic ITV shows (The Price is Right, Bullseye), and ultimately deliver their own verdict on the Ingrams’ guilt.

The technical team will need to recreate the glossy look of a prime-time TV show, with live video feeds and recreations of the original ‘Who wants to be a Millionaire’ effects and music.
