Reflections

Reflections showcases the songs of New York-based composer and musical director Carmel Dean, who recently worked on If/Then on Broadway, starring Idina Menzel.  The show brings together eclectic musical numbers with a newly-devised theatrical setting, powerfully brought to life by a cast of four local female performers.  This is a rare opportunity to hear Carmel Dean’s beautiful and haunting compositions outside the USA, this collection having only been performed once before in the UK.  Containing a mix of humour and sadness, Reflections is similar in style to Jason Robert Brown’s 1995 ‘theatrical song cycle’, Songs for a New World.
