Following their centenary production of The Mikado last year, CaOS return to the Arts Theatre with Gilbert and Sullivan’s classic comedy opera, The Pirates of Penzance.

Frederic, having come of age, is released from his apprenticeship to a band of tender-hearted pirates under the leadership of their flamboyant Pirate King. He meets Mabel and her many sisters, all the unwed daughters of Major-General Stanley, and the two fall instantly in love. However, it turns out that Frederic was a leap year baby, born on February 29, and will not be free to return to respectable society until his 21st birthday. Hilarious complications ensue as the local constabulary attempt to track down the wayward Pirates.
