Set building/painting

There's a lot of set to build and paint for The Producers - help will be welcome from anyone regardless of skill level, whether you're capable of building complicated set pieces or painting entire backdrops on your own, or if you're completely new to building and painting and want to work with someone else who can show you the ropes.

The building will start in the weekend of 9th/10th April, with a plan to finish the building by the end of April. Painting will start on the weekend of 16th/17th April, and continue into May.

To whet your appetite, the items that need building and painting include:

• A giant 8' high safe with opening door
• A pigeon-coup with space for 9 puppets and puppeteers
• Jail cells (in the style of Chicago)
• A line of silhouetted Nazi-saluting parachutists
• A rotating, multi-use light-up theatre sign
• An Alps mountain scene - with opening doors in the mountains
• And, of course, the obligatory item for a large-scale all-singing all-dancing musical: light-up steps
